What do you do? Chhaya Collective are a female-led dance theatre and live music company. Our performance and community projects strive to amplify women’s voices and share real-life stories of women in the 21st Century.
We bring people together through our performance work, workshops and community projects – all of which combine dance, music, theatre and costume design. We aim to create collaborative, cross cultural and interdisciplinary work, delivering projects regionally, nationally and internationally. We are Associate Company at PDSW and Exeter Phoenix.
Chhaya Youth Dance Company (est. 2016) is our programme for young dancers aged 12-21, based at Exmouth Community College and Exeter Phoenix. Chhaya Youth were selected to represent the South West at the National UDance Festival 2018 and 2023.
Who would you like to collaborate with? We are open to collaborating with as many people, artists, organisations as possible; both within and outside of the arts industry. Our upcoming project will be a collaboration with Plastic Free Exmouth, Sideshore Festival and Surfers Against Sewage.
