What do you do?
The Shippon Gallery, in an adventurously converted milking parlour, is a not-for-profit gallery and outdoor space that shows past and new work by resident sculptor Dave King MRSS alongside works by regional, national and international artists whose work he admires. The underlying aim is to bring contemporary visual arts to an under-served area while assisting in the development of an art community across East Devon, Dorset, West Somerset and beyond.
Artists shown so far include Cornish painter Andrew Lanyon, American sculptor Joel Fisher, marine artist George Sherlock, textile artist and ceramicist Jacy Wall and printmaker Jenny Graham. The exhibitions, mounted during spring, summer and autumn, each last up to six weeks. Open to passers-by and also by appointment.
Who would you like to collaborate with?
